Early research pilot11 September 2026 edition

Earth & History Explorer

How do we know what we know about the past? Search a small collection of claims, follow their sources, compare revisions and see where the evidence is anchored.

01Food before farming

What can charred remains tell us about early food preparation?

02Defining a geological age

How does a point in an ice core become a reference boundary?

03A documented journey

Follow the records behind the Apollo 11 landing claim.

The demo has three complete claim records. The full product has all 15, with their sources, limitations and recorded revisions. Every claim is AI reviewed; none has independent scholarly review. This is a small, uneven pilot, with modern reference locations rather than a reconstruction of the past.

Why I'm building this, and how I use AI

I want it to be easier to find out what we know about the past and why we think we know it. When people start from very different versions of reality, it becomes harder to understand and trust each other.

I've put a lot of care into the research pipeline and its evidence standards. I use AI for the parts I don't have time to do manually. The process is designed to keep sources, check what they support, distinguish evidence from inference, preserve uncertainty and make claims possible to reassess.

The ambition is to keep raising that standard and apply it consistently across a much broader history than any one source covers. That is a direction for the work, and something the results still have to earn. Corrections can mean changing a claim, researching it again or changing the process that produced it.
