Meet new people in Oslo
Making friends as an adult is strangely hard, and Oslo has a reputation for being a tough city to crack. I know because I moved here and felt it myself. Room for More is my answer: real events, every week, where meeting new people is the whole point and showing up alone is completely normal.
What's actually on
The regulars run every week, so the more you show up, the more familiar faces you'll start to recognize: an after-work mingle on Wednesdays at Kulturhuset, a pub crawl on Fridays, board games on Mondays at No Stress, and an outdoor workout on Saturdays. Free to join, you just cover whatever you eat or drink. The events page has every write-up and the next dates.
Nobody comes with a group
Arriving alone is how most people arrive, and the evenings are built around it. There's no program and no pressure, just a table, some people who also wanted to meet someone new, and a host (me) keeping an eye out for new faces. If you want the full honest picture before coming, read what an evening is actually like.
English, Norwegian, or both
We switch between English and Norwegian depending on who shows up. Locals, newcomers, and internationals all come, and both languages are completely fine.
How to start
Pick something on the events page and RSVP right on the event page, it takes one tap once you're signed in with your email. Meetup works too. If you'd rather watch for a while first, the weekly email on the front page tells you what's coming up.
Just moved here? There's a page for that: new in Oslo. Doing most things solo these days? Things to do in Oslo alone. Foretrekker du norsk? Les den norske siden.
